Things Are Happening...

Check out this link to an article that shows people are waking up to being supportive of farming organically.  I'm not an advocate of lawsuits per se, but we do need to take a stand to continue to aid Mother Earth.

Hugging Trees for Health

Well, what we have known instinctively for all ours lives is being scientifically proven.  Being with and hugging trees is good for your health.  :)
Below is an article I was sent through my bee association.

What the below article does not say is, it is also good for the trees.  They love it when we show them care, love and reverence!  The whole faerie realm is asking for us to do that all the time.

Although in some ways, it is sad we humans feel the need to rationalize and live according to our brains, it is good to hear for those that still are there for now (being in a mind dominated state.)  It affords a chance to choose to be more comfortable with being closer to our natural state of existence by becoming more closely connected to Mother Earth.

Hugging Trees Gives Good Vibrations.

We were right all along (maybe).

From NaturalNews.com

Tree hugging, that much maligned hippy generation idea, has now been shown to have scientific validity after all. Contrary to popular belief, touching a tree does make you healthier. In fact you don't even have to touch the tree to get better, just being within its vicinity has the same effect.

In a recently published book, Blinded by Science, (www.blindedbyscience.co.uk) the author Matthew Silverstone, proves scientifically that trees improve many health issues such as; mental illnesses, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), concentration levels, reaction times, depression and the ability to alleviate headaches.

Countless studies have shown that children show significant psychological and physiological effects in terms of their health and well being when they interact with plants. They demonstrate that children function better cognitively and emotionally in green environments and have more creative play in green areas.

A large public health report that investigated the association between green spaces and mental health concluded that "access to nature can significantly contribute to our mental capital and wellbeing".

So what is it about nature that can have these significant effects? Up until now it has been thought to be the open green spaces that cause this effect. However, Matthew Silverstone, shows that it is nothing to do with this by proving scientifically that it is the vibrational properties of trees and plants that give us the health benefits and not the open green spaces.

The answer to how plants and trees affect us physiologically turns out to be very simple. It is all to do with the fact that everything vibrates, and different vibrations affect biological behaviours. It has been proven that if you drink a glass of water that has been treated with a 10Hz vibration your blood coagulation rates will change immediately on ingesting the treated water. It is the same with trees, when touching a tree its different vibrational pattern will affect various biological behaviours within your body.

This vibrational idea is backed up throughout the book by hundreds of scientific studies to provide overwhelming proof that tree hugging after all is not such a crazy idea. Not only is it good for our health but it can also save the Government a lot of money by offering an alternative form of treatment that is free.

One report concluded with the following: "safe, green spaces may be as effective as prescription drugs in treating some forms of mental illnesses".

Wouldn't it be nice to hear from now on that doctors treat some forms of illnesses by suggesting a walk in the park rather than taking a packet full of pills.

Message From the Elementals

Many places across the country (United States) and from what I read, around the world, are going through strange weather patterns.  I know many of the people I talk to who live scattered throughout the United States are frustrated by the constant and frequent weather changes.
I myself have had many recent days where I change my clothes several times a day to either cool down or warm up because of the drastic weather changes throughout the day.  It is June and I have my windows closed and I am considering starting a fire, as it is so cold today.  Just yesterday, I was in shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt.

Today, as I walked my dogs this morning, I received this message from the elementals (as the wind blew and I had to zip up my coat!)
Some of you may know I am being given (in steps) a book of messages from the Faeries, Elementals and Nature Spirits.  I was told to not wait to put this in the book but to share it today.  So, here it is.

We are hearing many humans complain about the weather conditions lately.  They expect and assume that because a date on the calendar is here the weather should be a certain way all the time.
As we have stated before, the weather is changing due to the Great Mother’s (Gaia) purging of the poisons that have been put on her, but we (elementals) are also working to teach the human race by these actions (changing weather patterns).

It is imperative that humans learn acceptance of each moment.  This is the way the shift is to come for your race to obtain higher levels of energy and awakening to their Divine connection.
We teach as we know and use the energy links we have with your people; this is our way of having humans learn acceptance of what is.  After all, we have heard your saying, ‘You can’t change the weather’ so, you are aware that acceptance is truly the only thing you can do; although many of you still wish to complain, the only impact that has is to tell us you still have much to learn.”

Question & Simple Request

The faeries have a question for you.
Do you recycle in your car?
What?  You may ask.
Here are their words and request:

“We are fairly sure everyone has a garbage of some sort in their cars (if you don’t, we don’t want to think what you do- hopefully, you do not throw the trash out the window!)
Do you have a separate trash bag for paper that is recyclable?  We believe that if you would separate out your clean paper trash from your regular trash you will see there is much that could be recycled that is being thrown away simply because it is in your car.  A small brown paper bag would suffice to place your papers in that you wish to get rid of.  Then, when it is full, place it in your paper recycle bin at home.
It is a simple, yet helpful thing to do.  We are grateful for your help, even the littlest of bits add up to make a difference and show us you do care.”

So, there you have it, a simple request.
Thank you in advance for I know if you read this blog, you care enough to do whatever you can to help Mother Earth.

Seeing

People always ask me if I can see the fairies.  Can I see others in the faerie realm?
The answer is yes, but not always.  There are times that I too hope, or even expect to see them and don’t.  I’m sure that’s partially why.  No one likes anyone to expect anything from them; that does not show true reverence and respect.  Just like anyone else, we can ask but that does not mean the other always jumps up and does what we ask right away.

The other reason, I believe, is that we do not always see them is two-fold.  One, we are not generally as open as we think or present enough.  Our minds keep us in the past or future, so we miss what is right before us.  Two, knowing humans as they do, if they showed themselves to everyone all the time, we’d take them for granted and lose the magical messages they have for us.

So, when, or until, you see faeries, keep the awe and be reverent and they will be with you whether you see them or not.  Be open to being open and see what mysteries unfold.

A Challenge of Consciousness

We have a challenge for you.  For 24 hours, write down every time you complain.  Be honest as this will only benefit yourself and you don't have to show anyone.
More than likely, if you are honest with yourself, you will see that what you complain about is probably nothing you can do anything about and really nothing of any consequence.
It's a good exercise for bring about awareness and gratitude.  You may find that even if you have been told or believe yourself to be a positive person, there are more times than you would care to admit that your words are not always positive.

Why do we ask this and what does it have to do with the faerie realm?
Well, as we have stated before, your words have an affect on others (and bring about your actions) as well as having a domino effect on the Universe.  To help heal Mother Earth we need to be as positive and uplifting as we can honestly be.
Also, like attracts like, hence if you want positive things to happen in your life there needs to be positive thoughts, words and actions coming from you.  The faeries will only interact with those that are positively assisting the planet, so if you are desiring a connection to the faerie realm this exercise will only help bring you closer to them.
Besides, being positive is far healthier for you physically, mentally and spiritually.

So, take the challenge and let me know what you think and how it turned out for you.  As your faerie tale life unfolds (because if you see what you complain about, I'm sure you'll realize you have a much better life than you thought!) remember, everyone loves a happy ending.

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days-Day 6

Well, today is number six, the last color to complete our rainbow.   My desire over these past six days has been to help you find ways to brighten up your life. I hope you found this helpful invite others to come and view these writings.  Anyone may use these ideas to pass on to others; I only ask that you include my name and add this site's link.

So, on to our rainbow…  Last but not least is purple, the creative, expressive color.  No matter what your age, act like the ladies in the Purple Hat Society, who say, “Why wait till you’re 80 to wear a purple hat and have fun?”  Men can also don purple with a purple ties or socks.

Go wild, and get creative and expressive; replace your workout shoes with purple laces, and watch your energy soar!  Write a friend a real letter, instead of e-mail and use purple ink.  Your creativity will flourish.  Men, write your wife a simple “I love you” note in purple ink, and watch the reaction and smiles you get when she sees you took the time to do something a bit different and special just for her.

These simple, inexpensive things can make a big impact on positive energy for you and anyone else who sees them.  Let’s not forget al the wonderful purple foods available to our palate.  Red onions (that really look purple,) grapes, a great source of natural energy, eggplant, and natural juices, all can add to the positive, creative, and learning energy, that is associated with the color purple.

Now that you have added a rainbow of color to your life, how can you feel blah?  With healthier foods, a closer connection to nature (and the faeries,) simple, and economical ideas to break free from the winter blahs, you can move into spring with a rainbow of color, a spring in your step, and that warm, loving feeling that we can begin anew, just like the earth does with spring.

Remember, everyone has a way to see, find, and add to the beauty of this world.
Please let me know how you added color and beauty to your life and if you found this useful, (or even annoying!)

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days-Day 5

Nearing the bottom of the color spectrum is blue.  Maybe that is why blue gets a bad rap, it’s near the bottom, but those connections come from the negative connotations; we are focusing on the positives.  Blue foods, such as blueberries, have great health benefits.   The USDA Human Nutrition Research Center states that blueberries have the highest antioxidant activity and slow age-related loss in mental capacity.  The Oregon Blueberry Growers claim blueberries promote weight loss, improve vision, strengthens blood vessels, lowers cancer risks, and more.  Blue potatoes are also a great blue food, nutrient-packed with vitamin C, Vitamin B, Niacin, Thiamine, Magnesium, Potassium (having up to 40 times that of a banana,) a good source of fiber, and not high in calories (unless you add butter, sour cream, and blue cheese!)  Find some blue flowers, look at the blue sky, or add a blue accent to your outfit today; think of blue as the beautiful earth we live on, find ways to honor her, and respect the blue sphere that we all call home.  The faeries and Mother Earth will thank you for your gratitude and respect.

There’s one more day left so come back again tomorrow; don’t let me be lonely and blue, (I know, that’s corny-hey, blue corn!)  Okay, okay, enough…just someone write already!

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days-Day 4

Day four in our color therapy focuses on green.  You don’t need to look outside your window to add this beautiful color to your day, read on for ideas on how to live green.

Green, the representation of spring and new growth, can easily be added to your day through green leafy vegetables (try a veggie sub today for lunch,) and by saving and sharing some green (money.)  Commit to putting at least one dollar in a savings for yourself, and giving at least one dollar to a reputable charity for at least six days.  Maybe it will become a habit and you will create your own pot of gold!
Giving can bring back to you more than you ever imagined, no not always money, but joy, and appreciation for those that you made smile.

Look around and really see all the green in nature.  Say thanks out loud to nature itself, your Higher Power, God, or whomever you choose to believe, gave you the beautiful gift of green life today.  Do you have a small houseplant in your house?  Many are only a couple of dollars, and all you need to do is ask which ones require little water or light, depending on your situation.  There is a plant for everyone and they do not all require daily work (although they do like to be talked to, tell them how beautiful they are, and you will feel your true beauty also J  They will brighten up your home, give you your daily green, as well as fresh oxygen and draw in the faeries.

Even if it is just for today, do something to “go green” for the environment.  Recycle an item you normally throw in the garbage, pick up trash wherever you see it today, walk, or bike (that would be a bit harder if you live where I live today,) to the store or work: this will not only help the environment be more green, but save you some also.  Buy organic and help our “green” farmers.  Just one little change can make a difference, and who knows, it might become a welcome pattern!

Write me and let me know how you turned “green” if only for a day, (hopefully it was not the green with envy kind of green!)  Anyway, talk to me; I’m getting lonely here.

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days -Day 3

Happy May Day!  It is a special day for the faeries and also known as Baltane.  So, celebrate!  Welcome the flowers, the warmer weather to come and the faeries into your day, your yard and your life!
Day three of our series is short and sweet, but don’t forget, these are only guidelines.  I invite you to let your imagination explode for each and every day.
Send me your thoughts and ideas; it’s always good to listen and learn from others, which is how wisdom is passed on.

Going up the rainbow spectrum for day three is yellow.  It is associated with intensity and emotions.  Make today an accent day!  Buy an inexpensive bunch of yellow carnations, or daffodils (besides, it draws in the flower faeries!)  Grab your old work sneakers and decorate with yellow puffy paint.  Write yourself a positive affirmation on a bright yellow piece of paper and carry it with you for the day.  Remember, today is the day to heighten positive intensity and emotions.

Send one of those silly yellow smiley faces to everyone you know.  I’d love one, then at least I’d know I am not alone and just talking to myself

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days -Day 2

Day two - add orange.  Orange is associated with movement and flow.
Are you feeling fluid, or tired and run down?  Adding orange food to your diet can assist in overall health as well as adding color to your plate and palate.  Orange foods such as carrots, oranges, mangos, apricots, and sweet potatoes also are rich in beta-carotene, and antioxidant that boosts your immune system.  Those beautiful orange foods are also high in vitamin C and folate (folic acid), which helps reduce the risk of heart disease and prevents birth defects.  Eating right, and bright will enrich your diet and your life, enhancing your energy thus allowing you to want to move and flow more freely.  Orange, in relationship to your chakra relates to water, which equates movement.  Think of yourself as a flowing stream, freely moving to find that larger body of water to connect to.  When you have the free-flowing positive energy that comes from nourishing your body, you attract like people, and all move forward positively.

Stop by again tomorrow for the next color to add from your rainbow, and let me know your thoughts.

Recolor Your Blues with Color Therapy: Ways to Spring Out of Your Winter Blahs in 6 Days

With spring now officially here it does not mean instant warm, sunny days, and bright colored flowers.  For many parts of the country it can still be cold, dark, and dreary.

Feeling blue can set in for anyone at any time of the year.  How can you turn blue into a bright hue?  The key is color.  Just as music can assist in changing your moods, going from soft and bluesy, to more uplifting beats, color can do the same thing, and who doesn’t love to see a rainbow?  The faeries love bright colors and they help give the flowers their bright, beautiful colors through their loving touch and energy.

So, for the next six days, our (mine and the faeries) spring gift to you is color therapy.
Each day I offer you simple ways to look at brightening up your life, as well as making it healthier, with little or no cost.  We will begin by adding all the colors of the rainbow to your life, one at a time.

Start day one with wearing something red.  Red is an energy color giving it as well as attracting it, and it can add vibrancy to your day.  Don’t feel you look good in red?  Wear red socks, or add a scarf, pin, or bracelet to your outfit for the day.  Observe any changes in your energy or attitude.  Add a red accent to your food.  A slice of red pepper to jazz up your meal, a bowl of bright red apples on the table will not only brighten the room, but remind you of a healthy snack alternative.

Stop by again tomorrow for the next color to add from your rainbow, and let me know your thoughts.  No one likes to think they are alone in cyberspace.

Beautify the World

More words of wisdom from the faeries…

“Everyone has a way to see, find, and add to the beauty of this world.”

Have you found some beauty today?
Looking within do you see your beauty?
Can you look at your outside without judgment or criticism?

We first need to see the beauty and love in ourselves before we can share any with the world.  And the world needs us to be able to spread both beauty and love.  The faeries work to do that by helping the plants, flowers, herbs, berries and vegetables grow, assisting the nature spirits to beautify the trees, grass and other aspects of our landscape.

Have you added to the beauty of the world today?  The faerie realm is asking for our help to assist in beautifying the world as much as we possibly can.  Many times society looks at beauty only in the physical form and in the extreme - who has the picture perfect look, or if you have that big, new, beautiful house; whomever has the most toys wins, type of attitude.

These attitudes can lead to pressures, jealousy, anger, frustration, fear, and a list of negative emotions that are unnecessary and do not assist in the overall energy of the planet, which needs all the positive thoughts it can get.  Finding and celebrating the simple things in life ironically, can lead to those positive grand scale outcomes; it first starts with taking small steps.

Beautify the world by seeing and appreciating the simple things such as, you have a beating heart that keeps you breathing; legs and arms that allow you to do things, and lips to smile and share a simple hello to everyone you encounter, adds joy to the world.

To make your world truly beautiful, you first need to see it and then share it.  We live on a giant sphere, and life is circular; what we send out will come back to us.

So send out your beauty through your thoughts, words, and actions, and watch how much beauty comes back to you, tenfold.

Healing Energy

The faeries teach us that we need to have reverence and respect for Mother Earth; obviously, we have taken her for granted for far too long.
I have spoken of some ways to assist Mother Earth and will continue to talk on that subject however, it is also important to heal ourselves, for when we do we also heal the energy of the universe.

Healing the many wounds that environment, society, and guilt have created within us appears to not be easy, but the blessed thing is, nature teaches us it can be simple.  We only need to slow down enough to see, think, feel, hear, smell, and taste life’s glory, to know we do not really need much to have inner peace, and be truly happy no matter what life throws at you.

Does this mean we should all give everything up and take off for the north woods?  No, in fact, if we did we’d end up creating the same thing we were running away from.  The secret is not to run away from things but to run to them, from the inside out  (Buddha leaf quote.)

When was the last time you truly looked at a leaf and saw the simple beauty yet complexity of it all?  Are you like the leaf, splendid, ever changing; yet constantly growing and absorbing the abundance life has to give, or are you stuck in the fall or winter of our seasons, hibernating- appearing dead but still existing?

The wisdom of the trees shows us that although they have to go up against the weather, insects, man, and the messed up environment with its dirty air and water, they still somehow stay strong, continuing on year after year.  We too have trails and crud thrown at us, whether it is from negative people, or things that happen. Yet, we still need nourishment daily, so we can stand strong and use our resources and gifts. We can find this in nurturing our bodies with healthy, organic foods, exercise and quiet contemplation, listening to nature and our inner guidance from the Divine.  In essence, (and truly the key to all) being present and welcoming every moment.

Trees don’t need much to grow and flourish, and neither do we, if we keep it simple; we too can flourish and stand strong for many years and help create new offshoots that will continue to beautify and give joy and life to our world.  So, by nurturing yourself as well as all aspects of nature, we all benefit, helping spread love and positive energy throughout the planet and the universe.

Inviting Faeries Into Your Home

Inviting faeries into your home came be an exciting adventure J  If you are up for their playfulness and the energy is loving, fun and inviting, you may be blessed to have some come.  Some ways to bring them in are to offer them treats; they love sweets (not salt!)
Another is to play music or sing.  Celtic instrumental music is the best, and anything joyous and lighthearted you can sing will delight them.

Invite the flower fairies into your home with fresh cut flowers.  Just make sure when you notice them dying, which indicates the fairy spirit leaving) compost them and thank the fairies for their gift of fragrance and beauty.  If you hold on to them too long after they are dying, the fairy energy is forced to also hang on.

Watch for more ideas to come on how to invoke various beings of the faerie realm into your home.  Don’t forget, you can always ask me questions if you can’t wait until the next post!  Until next time, have a fairy fun day!

Sometimes More Equals Less

There is a story of a little boy who received a quarter from his grandpa.  He was so excited he showed it to his friend while they were playing outside.  A bigger boy came over and said, “I’ll give you three coins for your one coin.”  The younger boy knew three was more than one, and gladly took the three nickels.  Later, another boy said, “I’ll give you eight coins for your three, and again the boy was excited about getting more!  The bigger boy gave the younger boy eight pennies for his three nickels.  The boy was so happy he got more, he ran in to show his grandpa...

Are you striving for more and ending up with less?  More is not always better.  More can lead to pressures, stresses, and strains to keep up with everyone else, or to keep trying to top what we’ve done or have.  Our society seems to thrive on “more is better,” but is it really?

Can we have more with less?  I know with less, I have more time, more serenity, more appreciation, and more freedom, just to name a few of the benefits; and those, are more than worth it.

When we think of the places where there are not a lot of people, stores, gas stations, concrete, lights, and traffic, we see there is so much more, because there is so much less.
Some may see the “less” as not being convenient; I see it as a wonderful opportunity to live simply, economically, and earth (faerie)-friendly.  There is more room for nature and wildlife.  You can see stars, birds, reptiles, bugs and if you are privileged, those in the faerie realm.

In addition, all that “less,” totals so much “more,” in terms of peace, serenity, quiet, and beauty, not to mention, deepening your connection to the Divine and having joy in knowing there is still somewhere where wildlife outnumbers humans.  The great minds of Thoreau, and Emerson knew that we are at our best as humans, when we are more in tune with nature.

Now, I know we cannot all run off to the secluded wilderness, but the lessons those serene woods teach can be applied anywhere, if you are willing to let go of some of the material things in your life and allow the natural ones to come to the surface.  Not having so much stuff can save you time, money and frustrations, while lessening the burden you place on Mother Earth.

One way to bring the simplicity of nature to your surroundings is to easily, and inexpensively attract more birds, butterflies, and animals into your yard.  Not sure how to begin?  Watch here for more blogs that give ideas how to use recyclable products to make birdbaths, feeders, suit holders and the like. Ask any question you have.  Send me your thoughts and comments, whether you agree or not that humans need to simplify their lives and take hints from nature how to live.  Worry does not exist in nature, wouldn’t you like to have it extinct from your life?

A Beseeching Request On Behalf of the Trees

I actually wrote this quite a few years ago, but I still feel it applies today.

Recently, while on a trip up north in the beautiful wooded wilderness, the “naturalist” came out in me and thought, “Why aren’t there recycling bins in hotel and motels?  The enormous amount of things thrown away that could cleanly, and easily, go into recycling bins is a tragedy that could be avoided.  The “thrifty” aspect of me, thought, “Towns, Cities, Villages, and the like, make money on recycling, (so also, can individuals,) so why is this not common practice?

While having tea with my son at our favorite hang out today, he said to me, “I have talked to the manager so many times about recycling the cardboard wrappers they put on hot cups, and they never do it.”  It was very disheartening to him to know that the simple act of putting out a bin or a box seems to be more than they are willing to do. (As you can see, the apple does not fall far from the tree!) We discussed going somewhere that would put out bins, as a form of protest, but he stated he has tried at various places all over town, to get them to do this one simple thing; “Think of all the trees it would save,” he said.

So, on behalf of the trees, I am imploring all who read this to spread the word, and ask everyone you know who frequents coffee shops, hotels, motels, and anywhere that there are recyclable cups, sleeves, paper, whatever comes from our trees, to just place a unobtrusive bin or box near the garbage can, with a note to drop those items there for recycling.

Then, if they do it, tell everyone!  Notify your local paper, and spread the word among your friends and colleagues, give that business positive publicity, then others will see there are far reaching benefits to taking care of the environment; that one small act that takes only a few seconds, can have long-term positive results in more ways then one.

Think of all a tree gives us; beauty, a house for birds and critters, oxygen, shade, they can absorb excess water than can damage, the list goes on, and on.  So, instead of leaving garbage in our wake, let us be like the trees, and leave something positive; and the next time you take a breath, thank a tree.

Speaking For the Trees

As a child, I have always been drawn to the trees.  So, I guess naturally, The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss was always one of my favorites of his books (although that it is very difficult to choose; they are all great!)
Published in 1971, Dr. Seuss shows he was an advocate for the planet back then, possibly inspired by the “hippies” of the late 1960’s who began the awareness of saving Mother Earth.
Although too young to be on Haight & Ashbury Streets for the original movement, (although I do have a picture of me there in 2003 J) I am old enough to know that we strayed far from the original thoughts for way too long and now we humans have to choose to wake up and take action or, we will lose Mother Earth to disease and our own forms of annihilation.

In re-reading The Lorax, I realized The Lorax is a tree spirit.  He constantly tries to do his job (as do tree spirits now,) but is ignored due to greed and a belief that trees are an unending resource.  Once it is realized that is not the case and the money so desperately sought after is no longer available through the dying resource, it is too late.  We too, need to wake up before the damage is irreversible.

Like The Lorax, this is part of the many messages the faeries have to give us.  We must listen.  It is not just something we casually think or talk about to sound politically correct, it needs to be our way of thinking, our way of life.
Share these words of wisdom with your children and grandchildren; live your talk.  Allow our lives to be healthier and give the generations to come a strong, beautiful and abundant earth in which to thrive on.

More Ways to Save the Planet

Here are a few more ideas to help save the planet.  The faeries are grateful for whatever you can do to help.

Cheese slice wrappers

Food Storage

Reuse the wrapper instead of plastic wrap for small pieces of food or on bowls.  Using masking tape or a rubber band, wrap up small pieces of food in the cheese wrapper and secure with tape (masking tape works best) or a rubber band.

For use as a bowl cover securing it with a rubber band around the rim of the bowl, again, saving the need for plastic wrap.

Infant learning activity

If you sew, place the wrappers between two squares of material; stitch together for the "crinkle" sound that gives babies a tactile earning experience.

Chopsticks

Save your chopsticks from the Chinese restaurant and rinse the ends in soapy water.  Use to stake up small plants around the house or to grab things from tight spaces.  I once dropped a small object down the heating vent and was able to retrieve it using old chopsticks.

Clothespins

Food clip

Don’t waste money on those breakable plastic “chip clips” you buy at the stores.  An old-fashioned wooden clothespin works great.  (The hinged ones do work better than the all wood, non-hinged though.)  Use it to seal cereal, snacks, anything with an inner bag liner that does not self-seal.

Refrigerator magnet

Glue a magnet on the back of the clothespin and you have a nice refrigerator note holder.  It can easily be made more decorative by gluing on sequins, adding puffy paint or drawing or lettering it with permanent markers. Do this to designate a purpose, such as, naming a specific store’s list or to just make it more personal, i.e., adding a name.

Coffee grounds

Save water, use coffee grounds!  “What?” you say.  Yes, it can save hot water (thus energy and money) by using fresh coffee grounds on sticky hands.  This is especially helpful to preschool children who get glue on their hands and do not want to wash and rub under hot water for long periods of time.  Rub hands with the grounds then wash as usual.

Coffee grounds also help take away smells from your hands (but you still need to follow up with soap and water.)  It can also be used to scrub pans from crusted on food (also see orange bags).  Rub the pan before running water or washing with the grounds.  Then wash as usual.

Additionally, coffee grounds also make great compost; worms love them!

Musings

We are all entrusted with gifts from the Divine (God, Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, whatever your name of choosing is.)  Some are not even connected with their gifts, many of us use them, but not to they’re full potential, while others are fulfilling their destiny.
Regardless, we are not here to use our gifts/talents solely for our benefit, be it financial or ego feeding.  We are all here to assist each other in elevating to a higher consciousness and give love.
Seeing all as interconnected and from The One Source makes everyone and everything equal.  The red ant and our best friends are equal.
Hence why reverence for all life is so important.  For example, I do not kill spiders.  I relocate them.  If I choose to not have them in my house, then I bring them to a corner of the basement in the winter or outside when the weather is conducive.
However, would I pick up a black widow just because we are both part of the Divine Spirit?  No, common sense and self-preservation applies to all species, but there are always options and other possibilities besides the obvious.
Free will is a gift from the Divine and it should be used consciously.  Giving our will to the Divine is how we can elevate to the level where we live in true reverence to all beings, through our words, actions and thoughts.
This does not make us puppets.  In truth, we humans made this world entirely.  That is why it is not perfect.  We make our world by our thoughts, actions, reactions, and desires.
We are given what we ask for consciously or unconsciously.  We are loved that much by the Divine, for we can only learn from that which we think we know, for that thinking comes from a place of separateness from the Divine and through our learning are brought closer to true love.

Assisting Mother Earth

Since our state has decided to eliminate mandatory recycling (opinion to be withheld here) it is now more important than ever to utilize our creativity to re-use items that would normally be thrown away.  Regardless of what your thoughts on environmental issues are, these ideas can help save money and we all want to do that!
So, to continue on that vein, here are more suggestions.  Continue to watch for more to come!

Uses for old bike tires:

Cut in half with circular saw and screw into garage wall as a bumper stop.
Use as a large dog toy; roll and play; carry and chew (monitor they do not eat!)

Uses for Bread bags:

“Doogie doo” pick-up bags

Place one bag over one hand to scoop up your pup’s daily duty.  Hold open the other to bread bag to deposit for waste removal.  (You may wish to use a double bag over the “scooping” hand and another single bag over your other hand just in case.)

Storage bags

Reuse bread bags to store dry leftovers, pack sandwiches for lunch or double wrap wet foods before placing in the refrigerator to avoid messes.

Box liners  (Those inner bags in cereal boxes, etc.)

Freezer bags

Because box liners are usually made of strong plastic or are wax coated, they work well to prevent freezer burn.  Place the food to be frozen in the bag allowing for enough room to twist tie or tape (use masking tape) the top portion closed for a tight seal.

Lastly (for now,) don’t forget, use cloth dishtowels and napkins instead of paper towels and paper napkins.  Save a tree and money too!

Post your comments about how these ideas are working for you and let us know what ideas you have.  Again, there are many more to come!

Helping the Faeries and the Earth

To show our respect and reverence for the faerie realm, nature spirits and elementals, we are asked to help Mother Earth.
There are many simple ways to assist and I plan to give you earth-saving tips off and on in this blog.
Although some may be obvious, many times, we need to be reminded of even the simple things to actually follow through and do them.

So, next time you go for a walk, bring a bag to collect garbage.  In fact, bring two, so that you can separate the recyclables from the actual trash.  Using a plastic newspaper sleeve can be a great way to protect your hand and enable you to pick up most anything.
Another tip is to always re-use plastic containers from products like butter/margarine and other containers that things we buy come in.  Wash, save and re-use them to store and freeze leftovers.  If you do choose to use plastic zipper type bags, spend the money on the freezer ones as they are thicker and can washed and re-used many, many times over.
Even cans from soup, vegetables, etc. can be re-used to create a planter.  Just add small stones to the bottom for drainage, or drill some small holes in the bottom and place a plastic margarine lid under it.

That’s all for today, but there will be many more ideas to come.  Keep coming back for more faerie wisdom!

Welcome to Faerie Wisdom!

The intent with this blog is to share the wisdom of the faerie realm and open your world up to otherworld possibilities, thus opening up your heart and being to greater love, expanding your personal and spiritual growth.

Do you resonate with nature?  Have you ever stopped to consider who else is there with you in nature besides the birds and animals?

Are you open to all possibilities?

Maybe you’ve read about faeries, nature spirits & elementals or heard others speak of them, but do you know who are they?  How can you know if they really exist?  This blog will help clarify these questions and more.

Much information on the faerie realm is connected to Pagan or Wiccan teachings.  That is not the case here.  Although I have no judgments for anyone’s beliefs, I will be approaching things from a different perspective than others; allowing for all beliefs and people to be open to the faerie’s messages.  (This also means I do not get involved in spells.)

These magical and playful beings have messages to share.  They have wisdom and are here to help us as well as asking us to help them.  By creating a reverence for all beings, you will see your world expand & become even more blessed!

You may notice there are two different ways of spelling “fairy.”  Although my definition and reasoning may not be congruent with others, I use the spelling, “fairy” when referring to particular or individual fairies.  I use “faerie” as a way to describe the faerie realm which includes, leprechauns, pixies, mermaids, and the like.

So, if this all intrigues you, stay tuned for messages from the faeries as well as, nature spirits and elementals.

Namaste’
Marie
